37-bed paediatric ward for northern suburbs
12 May 2014
Albert joined the Premier this month to announce a new $15million 37-bed paediatric ward which will be built at Joondalup Health Campus.
The new ward is a collaboration between the State Government and Telethon WA, which will each contribute $6million, and Ramsay Health Care, which will contribute $3million, and will be called the Telethon Kids Ward.
While the new children’s hospital is being built in Nedlands, Albert said it was great to see the Government was also providing paediatric care in the northern suburbs.
“This is an outstanding addition to the Joondalup Health Campus and an important decision by the Government to provide this care on the doorstep of the suburbs where so many of us live.
“It means that northern suburbs parents will be able to have their children treated close to home.”
Construction is expected to start in the second half of 2014 and be completed in 2016.
