Marine Parks book for Students

4 October 2013

Albert recently joined holidaying school children at a local beach for the launch of the Discover Western Australia’s Marine Parks Activity Book and primary school teachers’ guide.

Albert said the new publications, produced by the Department of Parks and Wildlife with financial support from ExxonMobil Australia, would provide children with a fun and educational insight into WA’s unique marine parks.

“The State’s 16 marine parks and reserves protect marine biodiversity and also provide opportunities for people to enjoy and appreciate these remarkable natural environments” he said.

“The activity book and teachers’ guide, which will be distributed free of charge in WA primary schools, are an ideal way to introduce primary-aged students to the wonders of our marine life.”

The Ocean Reef electorate is neighbour to the Marmion Marine Park, making this a suitable book for students in the many schools throughout the electorate.
