Dial your local police direct

Police Minister Liza Harvey highlighted the move to local policing during a Community Law and Order Forum organised by Albert Jacob at the Harbourside Village in Mindarie.

The model uses modern technology to return policing to the days of having local police who are aware of specific suburban issues.

Residents of particular suburbs have dedicated mobile numbers to call for police help (see list below).

“A key plank of the new model is having the community connect with their local police teams.” Minister Harvey said.

Nearly 50 residents attended the forum last week, with hooning being raised as a particular concern.

Albert said he was committed to working with police to keep the community safe.

“I value the opportunity to hear the concerns of resident’s first-hand because it assists me in best representing them in Parliament and working with police in our community.” he said.

“I urge residents to call their local police team if they have law and order issues”.
