It’s not every day that you meet the fastest man on four wheels in Australia, especially in your local area, but Albert was able to do so earlier this year.

Rosco McGlashan, a local resident in the electorate of Ocean Reef, holds the Australian land speed record at 500mph (802.6kmh).

McGlashan has now moved on to designing a rocket-powered car – the Aussie Invader 5R.

The Aussie Invader 5R is designed to reach speeds greater than 1,000mph (1,600kmh) and will be his biggest and most powerful yet.

“After visiting McGlashan and his rocket-powered car, I was inspired by Rosco’s commitment to seeing his dream become a reality through years of hard work and dedication.” Mr Jacob said.

“When I light the wick on that it's gunna hit 960km/h in six seconds," Rosco told the Australian newspaper.

A rocket engine, he explains, is basically a massive explosion - in this case, several tonnes of high-pressure kerosene and oxygen ignited to shoot him across the face of the Earth inside a steel projectile.
